Taft is the only person to serve as both President and Chief Justice (1921-1930) of the U.S.

Taft, who weighed 332 pounds, got stuck in the White House bathtub the first time he used it.He had a 7' long 41" wide tub installed that could accommodate 4 normal-sized men. (He lost 150 pounds after leaving office.) Tafts new bathtub

The Taft's owned the last presidential cow and the first White House automobile.

He never really wanted to be President. He wanted to be Cheif Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
He was a good dancer and tennis player. He also had a great affection for golf.

President Taft invented the 7th Inning Stretch. As the story goes, Taft was attending a baseball game and stood up to stretch his legs during the 7th inning. Since the president stood up, so too did the crowd, creating the 7th inning stretch

Taft was known to eat pounds of salted almonds in a sitting.
Taft was tone deaf and had to be nudged whenever the national anthem was played.
Taft is the only former president to ever have sworn in a president. While serving as Chief Justice, Taft administered the Oath of Office to President Calvin Coolidge in 1925 and President Herbert Hoover in 1929.
